COX Vincent Henry Eberhart
Vincent Henry Eberhart was born April 10, 1921, in Blue Earth County in southern Minnesota. His mother, Clara Malzahn Eberhart, was a homemaker, and his father, George Eberhart, a farmer.
The father died in October 1939 and Vincent enlisted in the Navy three months later. He was a coxswain and petty officer third class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
There is a cenotaph in his memory at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato, Minnesota. HIs parents are buried there.
His brother Woodrow, older by four years, served in the Marines during World War II.
