Howard William Peckham was born March 1, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri to Leonard Peckham, a machinist, and Magdalena Hermie Peckham, a homemaker.
The son attended Wellston and Ritenour high schools. He enlisted in the Navy on Sept. 11, 1939.
Mr. Peckham was a fireman second class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
