Y2c Bruce Roosevelt Edmunds,

Y2c Bruce Roosevelt Edmunds

Bruce Roosevelt Edmunds was the only child of Horace W. Edmunds and Sadie R. Bruce Edmunds. He was born in Epsom, New Hampshire on Nov. 10, 1910.

The 1926 town annual report listed him as one of 11 students at nearby Pembroke Academy high school. Mr. Edmunds worked at a mill before enlisting in the Navy. His records say he enlisted on Dec. 10, 1937, but that might have been the date of his re-enlistment.

He was a yeoman and petty officer second class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.

His mother, a homemaker, died in 1931. His father, a farmer and shoe manufacturing worker, died in 1935.
