COX Edward Wallace Lane
Edward Wallace Lane was born May 26, 1918. Publicly available records do not identify his place of birth or the name of his father.
By the time of the 1930 Census his mother, Lillian, had married William Robertson and they lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he was a railroad switchman and she was a homemaker.
Edward probably lived there, too, and attended Cheyenne High School. What is certain is that he enlisted in the Navy on Nov. 15, 1939 in Denver. Mr. Lane was a coxswain and petty officer third class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
The 1946 Cheyenne High School yearbook named Edward Lane as a former student killed in the war.
