Edwin Carrell Hamilton was born Jan. 11, 1922 at Pueblo, Colorado. His mother, Ethel, was a homemaker and his father, Charles C., a railroad worker.
The 1930 Census said the family still lived at Pueblo, but by 1935 they had moved to Denver. That same Census said Edwin was adopted. He was the Hamilton’s only child.
Edwin graduated from East High, where the yearbook pictured him in the class of 1941.
Perhaps he graduated early, because Mr. Hamilton enlisted in the Navy on Jan. 27, 1941. He was a seaman first class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that Dec. 7.
