SM2c Eston Arledge

Eston Arledge was born on Nov. 11, 1916, in Vinton, Calcasieu Parish in far southwest Louisiana. His mother, Edna Lyons Arledge, was a homemaker and his father, John Thomas Arledge, a truck farmer.

The son attended Vinton High School, then enlisted in the Navy on Jan. 7, 1938. Mr. Arledge was a signalman and petty officer second class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
