AM2c Henry Landman
Henry Landman was born July 18, 1916 in Arthur, Michigan. His father, Casper Landman, was a farmer and later a laborer at a glass factory, and his mother, Sophia Wiegel Landman, a homemaker. They were Russian immigrants.
The son attended Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, Michigan through 9th grade.
On his Navy application, he said he wanted to travel and have a career. He enlisted on Nov. 3, 1937.
He was an aviation machinist and petty officer second class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
