F3c John Crawford Todd Clark

John Crawford Todd Clark was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Fresno County, California. His mother, Ellen Todd Clark, was a homemaker and Scottish immigrant. His father, Joseph Clark, was a farmer and Irish immigrant. They were Protestants.

The son attended Selma Union High School from 1937 to 1939. The Census said he worked as a farm worker in 1939.

He enlisted in the Navy on Nov. 5, 1940, as an apprentice seaman earning $21 a month. Mr. Clark was a fireman 3rd class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.
