SPRINGFIELD, VA

Today marks a significant milestone with the official formation of the Operation 85 Foundation, Inc., a Virginia-based non-profit corporation dedicated to supporting the families of Gold Star service members and missing American veterans. Established on July 18, 2024, this foundation is set to take a leading role in representing and assisting the families of those who have been prisoners of war (POWs) or are missing in action (MIA), spanning conflicts from World War II to present-day engagements.

The Operation 85 Foundation, Inc. is committed to providing a robust support system, equipped with the resources and talent needed to bring hope to families who often feel entangled in government red tape and bureaucracy. This new initiative will also support the USS Arizona Unknowns project, an endeavor focused on identifying and honoring the unknown sailors and Marines entombed in the USS Arizona.

“Today, we are excited to announce the official formation of the Operation 85 Foundation, Inc., a Virginia non-profit corporation with a mission to continue our work of assisting Gold Star and missing American service members’ families,” said Kevin Kline, Executive Director of the foundation. “Thank you to all who encouraged our team to push our success into the future. With today’s announcement, we now know that Operation 85 will be at the forefront of assisting our POW/MIA American military family members for decades to come.”

The foundation aims to be a true support system for the families of missing and POW American veterans, providing them with the necessary resources and advocacy to navigate the complexities of government procedures. By taking a proactive stance, the Operation 85 Foundation, Inc. ensures that these families are not left feeling abandoned or overlooked.

As we move forward, the Operation 85 Foundation, Inc. will work tirelessly to honor the sacrifices of American service members and bring solace to their families. With a mission deeply rooted in compassion, dedication, respect and most importantly, results, this foundation will be a beacon of hope for generations to come.
