RM2c William Dean Williamson

Unknown Sailor

RM2c William Dean Williamson

William Dean Williamson enlisted in the Naval Reserve on Jan. 6, 1939 at San Diego. He was a radioman and petty officer second class on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.

Mr. Williamson was the son of George T. Williamson and Irma Edrye Brannin Williamson.

He was survived by his widow, Athalone “Ann” Lovis Cone Williamson, who lived at Long Beach — adjacent to the battleship’s home port. On their October 1940 Yuma, Arizona marriage license affidavit he said he was 23 and born in Washington state, but Navy records indicate that he was born three years later on July 26, 1920.
